Can you use a doppelganger to destroy a legendary creature?

In Magic: the Gathering, say I were to use a Vesuvian Doppelganger (a waste, all things considered, but bear with) to copy a legendary creature. Are they now both destroyed?|||What he said... the official rule for legends as of today:

420.5e If two or more legendary permanents with the same name are in play, all are put into their owners' graveyards. This is called the "legend rule." If only one of those permanents is legendary, this rule doesn't apply.|||Yes, that is my understanding of how it works.
